MicroChip Records an original Detroit Techno<\/strong> lable which is a genre<\/a> of electronic dance music<\/a>[2]<\/a><\/sup> NOW expanding deeper into the world of (EDM) which is generally produced<\/a> for use in a continuous DJ sets<\/a>, like the ones made here by our artist around the world with tempo<\/a> often varying from 120BPM to 170BPM beats per minute<\/a> (bpm). The central rhythm<\/a> is typically in common time<\/a> (4\/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor<\/a> beat.[3]<\/a><\/sup> Artists such as MicroChip’s Dr. Angelo<\/a> and others may use electronic instruments<\/a> such as drum machines<\/a>, sequencers<\/a>, and synthesizers<\/a>, as well as digital audio workstations<\/a> and much much much more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drum machines from the 1980s such as Roland’s<\/a> TR-808<\/a> and TR-909<\/a> which most all Detroit techno beats were made with MicroChip Records technology programed by Dr. Angelo<\/a> and are highly prized, along with the other imitation  software emulations<\/a> of such retro<\/a> instruments are popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much of the instrumentation in techno emphasizes the role of rhythm<\/a> over other musical parameters. Techno tracks mainly progress over manipulation of timbral<\/a> characteristics of synthesizer<\/a> presets and, unlike forms of EDM that tend to be produced with synthesizer keyboards, techno does not always strictly adhere to the harmonic practice of Western music and such structures are often ignored in favor of timbral manipulation alone.
